Wenhao ZHANG

I’m Wenhao ZHANG, from China, and I just started on November 4th, 2024 a PhD entitled “Wave interaction with offshore wind turbine foundations in the coastal zone - effects of wave non-linearity, wave breaking and complex flow structure” at Ecole des Ponts (ENPC) and Laboratoire d’Hydraulique Saint-Venant (LHSV). The PhD grant comes from the MISCEA program (MISCEA = Modelling and Interdisciplinary SCience for the Ecological TrAnsition, https://www.miscea-program.fr/), a program partly funded by the European Commission in the frame of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) COFUND initiative. 

The PhD is supervised by Jeffrey Harris (main supervisor) and Michel Benoit (co-supervisor), with contributions from Marissa Yates and Sébastien Boyaval (ENPC and LHSV) and Christophe Peyrard (EDF & LHSV). 

I was born in Dengfeng, Henan Province, where there is the famous Shaolin Temple. Maybe you have heard of Shaolin Kung Fu. I did my undergraduate study in Hohai University (Nanjing) for four years, and then went to Dalian University of Technology (Dalian) for three years to do my master's degree, obtained this summer.
